There are entire blogs and websites devoted to social media “how-to’s”, so we’ll just hit the strategy “high points”. To build a strong social media foundation, make sure you are at least doing the following:

CONTENT IS KING: Identify what content is working, how it is working, and what to work on to improve engagements.

Consistent Branding: Your presence on all social media platforms needs to have consistent branding, meaning your accounts should be easily identifiable across all platforms.

Campaigns: It is important to determine how to use social media platforms to promote your career. Some examples of social media campaigns may include, but are not limited to, custom Facebook apps, contests, data collection, and items for YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.

Ads: Facebook and Google ads are used to target your fans by creating audiences to introduce you to fans of similar musicians and artists, users with parallel interests, and users in geographic areas where there is the greatest opportunity for higher visibility and engagement is important.

Pinterest is a free website that requires registration to use. Users can upload, save, sort, and manage images—known as pins—and other media content through collections known as boards. Users can then save individual pins to one of their own boards using the “Pin It” button, with boards typically organized by a central topic or theme. Users can personalize their experience with Pinterest by pinning items, creating boards, and interacting with other members.
