Vol. 6 – Lillie’s White Lies

—– Since 1991, literally thousands of artists have had their name represented on at least one volume of CDX. Texarkana native Martin Delray was one of the most talented ones. Born, Michael Ray Martin, he got his initial break in the business writing “Old Fashioned Love,” a hit for the Kendalls. In 1991, he hit the Billboard top-40 with “Get Rhythm,” a Johnny Cash classic that featured a vocal cameo from the Man In Black.

His second single – while not as big of a chart hit – featured a dynamo vocal performance that seemed to make an impact with many Country listeners who appreciated the more traditional sounds. He released a few more singles for Atlantic through 1993, but hasn’t been heard from since. Let’s reach back into the time tunnel and enjoy “Lillie’s White Lies.”
