Vol. 11—High And Dry

—- A name that we have seen resurface as of late has been Maceo, Kentucky native Marty Brown. In the fall of 1991, long before Walmart had “Supercenters,” Brown and MCA partnered up with the department store chain for a tour of locations throughout the United States. (They came to Dickson, Tennessee – I still have my autographed copy of his debut album!)

Though widely hailed by critics, Brown might have been one of the first acts to qualify for the unfortunate description “Too Country.” But, he held true to himself – and released three more albums throughout the decade, and enjoyed success writing “I’m From The Country” for Tracy Byrd. As of late, Brown has been seen on America’s Got Talent. Revisit this unique original, with “High And Dry.”
